Russian authorities plan to establish at least 20 drone ports by yearend
"As of May this year, 31 drone ports have already been deployed across eight regions," Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Savelyev said
MOSCOW, June 6. /TASS/. Russian authorities have announced plans to establish at least 20 additional drone ports - dedicated bases for the automatic takeoff, landing, and routing of unmanned aerial vehicles - by the end of 2025. Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Savelyev made the announcement during a session of the Council for Strategic Development and National Projects.
"Together with the Ministry of Transport, the Federal Air Transport Agency, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade, we have reached a consensus to develop not only a network of landing sites but also mobile drone ports," Savelyev stated. "As of May this year, 31 drone ports have already been deployed across eight regions. Our goal is to install at least 20 more by the end of 2025."
This strategic initiative aims to reduce capital expenditures associated with constructing traditional landing infrastructure while bolstering the growth of the market for unmanned aerial systems services.
