NEW YORK, June 7. /TASS/. After clashing with US President Donald Trump, American businessman Elon Musk wished him well in response to a similar wish from the US leader.

"Likewise," Musk wrote on his X page, commenting on a statement Trump made during a conversation with White House press pool reporters. "I just wish him well," the head of state said at the time.

On June 5, Trump and Musk exchanged harsh words on social media. Musk said that Trump would not have won the November 2024 election without his support, approved the idea of impeaching Trump, criticized the bill initiated by the White House to reduce government spending and the import tariffs introduced by the president, and predicted a recession in the US economy in the second half of 2025. Trump, in turn, said that Musk ceased performing his duties in good faith while overseeing the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and had gone crazy. The president threatened to terminate government contracts with Musk's companies, including SpaceX, and cancel all subsidies.
