MOSCOW, June 7. /TASS/. The Ukrainian authorities seek to evacuate as many civilians as possible from the city of Sumy in order to quarter soldiers in their homes, a Russian security official told TASS.
"It’s crucial for the Kiev regime to make sure that as many civilians as possible leave the city and move to stay with their relatives and friends, easing the financial burden on the country’s budget. Besides, they expect local residents to vacate their homes so that soldiers can be housed there," the official said.
According to him, Kiev realizes that many Sumy residents have a negative attitude to the Ukrainian armed forces and are unwilling to house soldiers, while others are looking forward to the city’s liberation.
The official added that "the fighting is moving closer to Sumy, and the enemy will hide behind the backs of civilians, like they always do."
A Russian security official told TASS earlier that almost no civilians were left in frontline settlements in the Sumy Region.
